Title IX is supposed to mean
equality in sports for men and
women and although it has until

it does seem that the

do not have the money to build
these programs. It seems very
unfair that the men's recruit.ine
budget for football is $ 56,746
more than the total women's sports
budget.
It seems that the University is
"copping out" with regard to the
need for greater financial support
to the women's program. It is true
that the football team has cut back
in the number of scholarships that
can be given. How dreadful to be
limited to ninety-five. The implication
is that this is directly
reflected in the amount of income
the men's program can accrue.

Perhaps a workable solution would
be to give scholarships to the kind
of athletes that would guarantee
regular gate profits. Alter au,
