Carolina's rugby club won
second place in the Hilton Head
Tournament last weekend, beating
arch-rival Columbia Kugby Club,
13-7, before losing to Richmond, 210,
for the championship.
The loss to Richmond was
Carolina's first defeat of the season
after posting wins over Greenville
Rugby Club, 10-6, and Atlanta
Rugby Club, 10-7. Carolina suffered
its first losing season in

behind 6-0 in the first half after
Richmond scored on two penalty
kicks. Early in the second half,
Carolina was put at a disadvantage
when Jim Burke was injured.
Richmond capitalized on the loss of
Burke by scoring two tries, and
they went on to win 21-0.
