Led by the shooting of Charlie
JStroman and the rebounding
of Jack Lewkowicz, Snowden
defeated previously unbeaten
Bates West 80-54 in an intramural
basketball game Tuesday night.
Stroman had a game high of 22
points, and Lewkowicz pulled down
numerous rebounds on both the
offensive and defensive boards
Snowden hit high percentage shots
all game long and also shot well,
from beyond the three point circle.
"We shot well, especially from
the outside, and our fast break was
the key to ihe game," said
Snowden coach 3illy Ray
Strickland. "We knew they were
m good, and we just played a great
game."
Both teams came out playing a
zone defense, but Snowden's Jerald
Patterson was unstoppable.
PI Patterson hit three shots from
beyond the three point circle, two
of them coming in the first three
minutes of play.
Bates West, unabi
Snowden's zone defense and
shooting inconsistently from the
outside,fell behind quickly and was
unable to get close to Snowden
after the first few minutes of play.
After jumping out to a 16-9 lead
midway through the first half,
Snowden went on to outscore Bates
West 16-6 to take a 34-15 halftime
