If Charles D). "Pug" Rtavenel, a former candidate for governor, can
retire his campaign debt of approximately $40,000, he plans to
run again for public office, he said Wednesday-.
in a meetmng with UJSC students, Ravenel would not indicate whether
hie would seek the governorship or Strom Thurmond's U.S. Senate seat.
Hie said that hie would wait until 1977 to decide, but seemed to favor the
governorship by saying, "I like to get things done. I would tend to enjo
more and feel more fulfilled in an executive role."
ADDRtESSING an audience of more than 200 pepe aee
did not cite any specific reason for the meeting. "I am ntee to ask
.you for anything, or to ma'ke a speech," he said. The meeting was used
ats an opportumity for Ravenel to inform students of his present ac
tivities and for students to question Rtavenel about both his past and
present activities.
