DUTCH SQUARE SHOPPING CENTER parkanue Intramurals Game of the Week By RAY COOPER Gamecock Sports Writer Chi Psi ran its undefeated record to 52 straight wins yesterday, defeating Kappa Sigma 19-0 in the in tramural game of the week. Chi Psi, the defending champion in the fraternity division, has compiled an 85-3 record over the past five years and has gone undefeated in regular season play during the past three seasons. Chi Psi remained true to form yesterday afternoon as they completely dominated the game with Kappa Sigma. In the first half, Brent Schofield scored of a 40 yard ass from quarterback Tony Boykin and David impson added the extra point to give Chi Psi a 7-0 lead. Boykin was not through scoring for his team in the first half, throwing a 45 yard touchdown pass to Tommy Woods for the second and final score of the first half, giving Chi Psi a -13-0halftime lead. The second half started as if Kappa Sigma had gotten their offense all together at halftime. Kappa Sigma quarterback Bob Watson moved his team well until a pass interception by Gill Rogers stopped the drive. Kappa Sigma operated their offense from the shotgm formation and according to coach James Channing they used this formation because their offensive line is so small. "We're a little disorganized, but once we get our thing together we'll be okay," Channing said, alluding to his team's inability to establish any type of of fensive showing against the Chi Psi defense. Player-coach Bill Shroder of Kappa Sigma said his team had equal talent and they were getting beat because of his team's disorganization. "We have twice as much fun as Chi Psi," Schroder said. The final score of the game came on a run by David Simpson of Chi Psi. The touchdown was set up on a good rm up the middle by David Booth. The pass for the extra point failed and the score stood 19-0 when the final whistle blew. Chi Psi played platoon football throughout the game. The Ci Psi defense is also a very polished unit as they intercepted five passes from the opposition in yesterday's game. With the game out of reach, Chi Psi put in their second team quarterback Odie Rawls. Rawls had his team mving into scoring position as the game ended.
