ACC From Page One
Bryan was quoted this summer as saying "he
would like to know why USC wishes to rejoin the ACC,
what is its attendance figures at sporting events and
under what conditions did they (USC) withdraw from
the ACC several years ago."
Officials from other ACC schools were not available
for comment on the status of USC's readmission
proposal.
A major hangup were USC readmitted, officials
say, could be scheduling. For example, in order for a
school to be eligible for the conference football
championship, a team must play five of the seven
member schools.
USC will play five ACC teams in football this year
(Duke, Virginia, N.C. State, Wake Forest and
Clemson. However, future scheduling could be a
problem, since schedules are booked years in ad
vance.

Expanded coverage
aim of 'Crucible'
Fiction, poetry, essays, art and photography for
USC's literary magazine, "The Crucible," can be
submitted by any USC student or faculty member up
until Nov. 7.
Joe Tiller, the magazine's editor, said all sub
missions should be sent to Box 5137 in the Russell
House.
"FINANCIALLY we are in the position to produce
a first-rate literary magazine if we can get the co
operation of members of the Carolina community
who write," he said.
Tiller said his aim is to expand the magazine inits
coverage and accessiblity to its audience.
"One way we are doing this is by looking into the
possibility of including book reviews and an interview
with someone who would be of interest to the Carolina
community," he said.
PHYSICAL structure of the magazine will be
similar to the spring issue in that it will remain a
horizontal magazine as opposed to the tabloid
newspaper format that was used in the last fall issue,
he said.
