BAR From Page One SALEEBY BELIEVES that the faculty did not follow the anonymous grading procedure on examinations and that his son failed because of inolitical connections. Hollings'sorhas decided not to attend despite the Board's decision. Law School Dean Robert W. Foster has said that there is no requirement for faculty members to use an anonymous grading system using only social security numbers or tear-off cover sheets. He said however, "all examifiations in the 1975 SPAT Program were graded anonymously and in accordance with the existing Law Center policy and practice. " The law school faculty has resolved that compliance with the Board's decision "would compromise the function of the Law Center and its accreditation" and has agreed not to grade the 14 students. Law students are also circulating a petition urging that the board rescind its decision. South Carolina Bar President Claude M. Scarborough said the Bar "is very concerned that the law school could lose its accreditation" because of the Board's action. If this should happen, graduates would be eligible to practice law only in South Carolina. In its resolution the Bar offers its services in connection with an investigation of the improper gri aiding allegations. ACCORDING TO Foster, the accreditation standards of the Americ an Bar Association (ABA) stipulate that admissions decisions must be the sole responsibility of law faculty members. The Board's action directly contradicts this standard. SGA From Page One heard talk of it. "I doubt that there will be impeachment though," he said. Hill said SGA officials would probably try to talk the problems out. Lott said he is working on the codification. The money was allotted for the letter writing but "was not requireement." He said Hill wrote each senator two letters this summer to keep them informed. Lott said he was taking a tough course in summer school and did not have much spare time. THE SGA SENATE, which Lott heads, did not meet last week as scheduled. The meeting was canceled, Lott said, "to give everyone a chance to settle in." He said the senate would meet this week. Sen. Jerry Bishop said he had not heard from Lott this summer but did receive two letters from Hill. Bihhop also said he had heard Lott was negligent in hiring a secretary.
