Students can qualify
for research abroad
Graduate study or research abroad in academic fields and
professional training in the creative and performing- arts for 1976-77
will be awarded to students competing through the Institute of In
ternational Education.
The institute expects to award approximately 550 awards to 50
countries, according to a recent statement.
To be eligible a student must be a United States citizen when he
applies and have a bachelor's degree or its equivalent before the grant
begins.
Persons with doctoral degrees are not eligible. Creative and per
forming Artists are not required to have a bachelor degree, but they
must have four years of professional study or experience.
Social work applicants must have two years of experience and a
masters degree in social work. Candidates in medicine must have an
M.D. when they apply.
Professor Herbert S. Matsen, at 608 Humanities Office Building, is
the institute's representative at USC.
