sets plans
for reunion

Organizational plans have
already begun for Homecoming
1975.
This fall, homecoming will be
held on October 10 and 11. The
overall theme for homecoming will
be "The Wonderful World of
Carolina," and will be in
corporated with animated cartoon
characters for the planned ac
tivities.
Programs for homecoming in
clude outdoor entertainment,
concert(s), a cookout, Cockfest
and a parade. The Homecoming
Committee will hold meetings
throughout the summer to finalize
plans.
Publicity for Homecoming 1975
will be handled by the
Homecoming Committee,of which
Larry Johnson is the chairman.
Copies of the general plans for
Homecoming were sent last week
to about 170 different organizations
on campus.
"Some interest has been shown
by the Interfraternity Council so
far," said James Anderson,
director of Cockfest 1975.
Anderson is a member of Pi
Kappa Phi, a social fraternity
which has handled Cockfest for the
past four years. Budgeting for
Cockfest will be decided by the
Student Allocations Committee.
This year a maximum of four
skits will be presented at Cockfest.
Tryouts for skit presentation will
be held Sept. 12. In addition,
Cockfest will held the homecoming
debut, a concert and a fireworks
display.
"We are working on program
ming right now," Anderson said.
The committee for Cockfest 1975
will also meet throughout the
summer.
Tom Jordan, a member of Alpha
Phi Omega, last year's
homecoming parade director, is
helping set up the plans for this
year's parade. Alpha Phi Omega,
a service fraternity, handled the
parade last year. Organizations
may enter a float or a decorated
car. The deadline for float entries
is Oct. 1.
"Several organizations are
already working on plans for their
floats," said Jordan. The parade
will be held October 1,1, probably
in the early afternoon before the
game.
The idea of using animated
characters such as the Flintstones,
the Pink Panther and various Walt
Disney characters, should be
evident throughout the
homecoming festivities. Skits
and floats will be geared toward
this theme.
Prizes will be awarded in both
the skit and float categories; the
prizes have not been decided,
however.
Homecoming 1975 is intended to
be for the entire Carolina Com
munity. Jordan sdaid, "We are
exp~ecting even more activie
participation this year than last."

Public service ads for students are run free
with a maximum of 15 words. These ads must
be made in person.
