The USC men's tennis team
struggled to a 5-4 victory over a
surprising Presbyterian College
team on Wednesday.
USC's number one seede, Clyde
Skaflestad downed Alvaro Angel,
6-1, 7-5, and Jeff Kefalos defeated
PC's Mike Faya, 6-1, 6-2.
The other four singles went to
three sets with PC taking three.
Carlos Behar defeated USC's
Andreas Hufschmid, 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.

A USC student who defines
himself as an avid lover of un
dersea life is in the process of
reviving a Carolina scuba club.
According to John Yennie, a
meeting is scheduled for tomorrow
night in Russell House, with exact
time and location to be posted.
"The objective of the club,"
Yennie said,. "is to get people
educated in the sport of scuba
diving. We'll be trying to get
people certified and work them up
until they eventually get their dive
master rating."
Tuesday night's meeting will be
basically a round-laying process,
with the purpose of electing of
ficers and drawing a budget for the
fall semester. Expenditures for
the club, subject to Student
Allocation Committee (SAC) ap
proval, will include a portable

In addition, the scuba club will
make several field trips,
"hopefully, over break, maybe to
Jamaica or the Bahamas," Yennie
said.
Membership dues will be $5 per
semester. Members are divided
into two categories: actives (those
who are certified and can dive
right away), and inactives
(beginners who can obtain active
status).
The formation of a scuba club
has been the personal project of
Yennie's for some time, and,
having cut through much of the red
tape, he is optimistic. Yennie
cited the help of the owner of a
local dive shop as being in
strumental in the success of his
drive.
