The Gamecock baseball team
boosted their record to 21-2 with a
pair of victories over Howard
University.
On Monday, freshman Chuck
McLean scored the winning run on
a wild pitch in the bottom of the
ninth to give Carolina a 2-1 win.
Greg Ward, 6-1, picked up the
win as he held Howard in check
despite being touched for 10 hits.
Ward struck out six and walked
two. Jeff Grantz led the USC of
fesne with two hits.
Carolina had little trouble in
defeating Howard again on
Tuesday, winning by the score of
10-0.
All-Star team
North Carolina State's David
Thompson and Indiana's Bobby
Knight pulled down top honors in
the 1975 Pizza Hut All-America
team as selected by the United
States Basketball Writers
Association.
In announcing the 10-member
squad, the USBBWA designated
Thompson as player of the year
and Knight as the nation's leading
coach for the 1974-75 campaign.
The 6-foot-4 Thompson was the
only repeat performer on the
squad.

shutting them out, 9-0.
Carolina overwhelmed Coker
winning all the matches in straight
sets. Sue Stoll, a strong number
one player, defeated Coker's top
player, Barbra Horton, 6-3, 6-3.
Susan Tinsley, third seed, downed
Jane Millan 6-1, 6-3. Dee Dee
Easler moved up to number five
position and won easily over Susan
Fraylick 6-2, 6-0.

Wilmington. Carolina will meet
UNC-Wilmington again on
Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for a single

Pasky saw action for the first time
playing number one doubles.
Pasky teamed with Peggy Fowler
to beat Horton and McWalters
taking the first set 6-3 and winning
a close second set 7-6 in,a tie
breaker.
Freshmen Connie Albertson and
Liz Isherwood teamed together
for the first time to play number
two doubles.. Albertson and
Isherwood took the first set 6-3 and
dominated the second set 6-0
beating Milian and Fraylick.
Carolina plays Winthrop College
today at 2:00 at the PE Center
courts.
