efforts we gave. We turned in
some fine individual per
formances, broke three school
records, and took five first places,
so you can't find much fault in
that," McClure said.
"Of course," he continued,
"Indiana and Alabama have so
much more depth, and considering
the type of competition, I'm not
disappointed."
Indeed, Carolina seems to be
capable of breaking record after
record, meet after meet. The most
dazzling record-smasher, Ron
Adams, not only set a school record
but eclipsed Alabama's home field
mark in the triple jump with a 52-2

Allen's 14.1 time in the 120 high
hurdles was good enough for first,
as was John Brown's 1:53 880-yard
sprint.
In other scoring, Don Layden ran
a 4:11 mile (2), Wayne Thomas'
1:54 run in the 880 captured fourth
position, and Alan Shoultz took
Fourth place in the 440 hurdles with
a 53.8 finish.
Milton Reid was runner-up in the
120 with a 21.8, Bob Day was fourth
