A bike-a-thon with a theme of
"strong legs ride so weak ones may

The event will raise funds for the
Easter Seal Society for Crippled
Children and Adults of South
Carolina, Inc. Bikers will ride on a
20 mile route in Fort Jackson.
Funds raised through the bike-a
thon will help provide services
such as diagnostic clinics and
prescribed physical, occupational,
speech and hearing therapy to the
handicapped of Lexington and
Richland Counties.

Hardin suggested another
problem created by requiring a
test before the drop date. "The
professor may decide to give an
extremely hard test by which he
would eliminate all those
students who could not meet his
standards. By doing so, he could
only keep those exceptional
students."
But forcing the professors to
give a test before the drop date
would create a conflict with those
professors who do not give tests
at all.
Carpenter agreed a professor
should give out a syllabus at the
start of the term. "We're trying
to protect the right of the student
to get out before he gets in over
his head."

faculty relationships will be held
from 3-8 p.m. March 28 at
Williams-Brice Stadium.
Fifty students and 50 faculty and
staff members will participate in
the workshop. USC students are
eligible to take part. Students
should register by calling Dr. Paul
Fidler's office, 777-8151, by 5 p.m.
March 24.
Fidler said students will take
part in group discussions with
faculty and staff members on
various issues of how to improve
educational relations.

"We think," the report adds,
"It is worth looking into since it is

to the middle of the FM dial."
The report concludes, "There

which would be posted before the

Cassandra Christensen, also
co-chairman of the committee,
agreed to this proposal. "It
would be especially good in those
classes that are very large and no
test is given. This is also the
situation where the student and
professor are on an impersonal

In addition, the Student Senate,

asked the Faculty Senate to
