HI-FI BUYS was started by 13 people who
had one thing in common - an overriding
interest in sound. Some of us were musicians,
others were involved in studio work and
sound reinforcement, a few were just
collectors of fine equipment, but every one of
us loved music and really wanted to be
around good sounds all the time.
You see, one of the things that hassled us
te most about good music was the kind of
stores you had to shop in. All the people who
sold it were KNOW IT ALL AUDIO SNOBS
or PSEUDO SALESMEN who thought
Emerson, Lake and Palmer was a law firm. So
we started a HI-FI store just like we wanted
to shop at.

some super-opinionated audio buff who only
wants to talk about obscure products with
even more obscure warrantees, or if you've
ever tried to get some straight advice from
one of the so-called "golden eared" stereo
salesmen and now you're hassled, as we once

Good concerts are few and far between,
and for the most part so are good music
systems. But here's an exception. A corn
ponent music system that's so good we call it
the $300 concert. This is a real component
system, not pretend stereo. That's why we
honestly believe that in most moderate size
rooms you'll probably think you're at the
concert.
We chose KLH model 32 two-way speakers,
the newest Sansui AM-FM stereo receiver, the
