Senator says Pince
TO THE EDITOR:
In reference to the impeachment
of SGA Cabinet member, Mike
Pincelli, now that this fiasco is
over, with the withdrawal of the
bill by its sponsor I feel free to set
the record straight. I worked very
closely with Pincelli throughout
"Carolina Cares," and I can truth
fully say that Mike worked his ass
off to make the project a success
and did one hell of a fine job of it.
I do not recall seeing Frierson at
anytime during the project
working to help get these goods to
the needy. I do recall seeing him
several times lounging around the
SGA office during this period. I am
disturbed that Mike has received
only hypocritical hot air instead of
the appreciation of the student
body for his selfless efforts.
Also, on the letter that was so
viciously critical of. Cabinet
member Eileen Berlin ("Berlin's
voice is not that of God's," Feb. 3),
I must say that I was shocked that
The Gamecock would grint such
incoherent babbling as this, which,
in my opinion, could only be the
work of a deranged mind.
I have worked with and admired
Berlin for quite sometime, and
have found no one to be a more
articulate, intelligent represen
tative for the student voice than
she. To refer to such a delicate,
flower like, lady of such quality as
Berlin in such caustic terms is an
abuse which has caused me much
suffering, and I would ask that in
the future, writers would keep in
mind that eve.- as fine a lady as
Ms. Berlin is only human. These
unrestrained attacks on her only
hinder her in her efforts to build a

Legislative
information
TO THE EDITOR:
As you may know, over the last
year the South Carolina House of
Representatives has undertaken
an extensive internal moder
nization program. We have sought
to increase our research staffing,
establish a computer information
system and have adopted many
rules designed to streamline our
operations.
One of the most significant
services offered by the develop
ment of our data processing
capability is a Public Information
Station located on the ground floor
of the State House. A member of
the press or a private citizen may
walk up to the booth or dial a toll
free telephone number to learn the
.status of any House or Senate bill,
the bills introduced by any
member and other useful in
formation.
In the future, our Legislative
Information System will provide
roll call reporting, statutory
retrieval and photo composition
printing.
Our system is most economical
because we are utilizing the
computer owned by USC and pay
