Russell Putnam said. The senate Finance Committee will propose two bills to the senate Wednesday. One is the elections budget, presented by Robert Kilgo co-chairman of the committee. The other bill establishes procedures regulating SGA elections. The 15-page bill, written mostly by Putnam, includes all voting regulations and procedures. The estimated budget for the spring elections is $1,500. Two thirds of this will pay poll workers salaries. SGA members and candidates will not be allowed to work at the polls. Other costs include the voting machines, computer printouts, and supplies for the elections. After the polls close each day, the tabulations will be collected from each machine and kept by the SGA Attorney General. The tabulations will then be totaled and posted on the SGA bulletin board. There will be three voting days this year: the primary, first run off, and the second run-off. Write in candidates are prohibited in the run-off elections. A minimum of three persons (a poll captain, poll assistant and a machine attendant) will staff each poll. Their duties, method of selection, and salaries are listed in Putnam's bill. To insure that no student votes twice in one election, fee cards will be marked on the back after the 1(PA 'PIN' tons migh student votes. The mark will in clude the date, the voting machine number and the student's senate district. A different color ink will be used each day to mark the cards.
