Dr. Ralph C. McCullough, II,
assistant dean and professor of
Law in USC's Law Center, has
been elected to membership in
the American Law Institute.
McCullough came to USC in
1968 and prior to that time was a
practicing attorney in New
Orleans, La. He was named
assistant dean of the Law Center
in 1971.

Capt. H.D. Mann of the U.S.
Navy has been named com
manding officer of Naval ROTC
and professor of Naval Science at
USC.
Capt. Mann assumed his new
duties on Jan. 1, coming to USC
from the Center for Naval
Analyses where he was director of
the Southeast Asia Analytical
History Project.
He has also commanded a Tank
Landing Ship (LST) and destroyer,
operating in both the Atlantic and
Pacific and served on the Navy
Staff and the Joint Staff. Capt.
Mann was also an instructor in the

Joining the Naval Reserve in
1958, Capt. Mann began active duty
as an enlisted man in 1952 and
received his commission in 1953.
He received a commendation from
the Secretary of the Navy for his
performance as "captain" of the
LST and the Bronze Star for per
formance as commanding officer
of a destroyer in Vietnam.
Capt. Mann holds baccalaureate
and masters degrees in Education
from the University of North
Carolina and Is also a graduate of
the Armed Forces Staff College.
