"I was very tigt especially at

Bowell said later. "I'm just glad

off my back."
Bucknell did not have the players
to threaten Boswell, so it still
remins to be sten how he will do
against a quality center. Saturday
night's game with Oklahoma and
its center, Mvin Adams, an Ml
America candidate, should help to
show how good Boswell is.
Jeff Werner, Bucknell's 6-9
freshman substitute center, scored
13 points, 12 while Boswell, who
fouled out after playing 24 minutes,
was in the game.
BosweH said be feels pressure h
going against Adams Saturday.
'There is some pressure becaus
he scores a lot of points and I hav
to stop him for us to win," be said
Carolina, which led 4-33 at the
half, had its biggest lead of the
game at 41-19 with four minutes k

In addition, Bucknell had several
players who had, fle games.
Gerald Purnell, a 5-10 freshman
guara from Baltimore, scored 17
points and gave USC some trouble
with his quick moves both on of
fense and defense.
Early in the game 6-8 forward
Scott Hebditch hit three shots from
the baseline to keep the Bisons in
the game. Hebditch ended the
game with 11 points, third high for
his team.
But Bucknell never did threaten
the Gamecocks, who managed to
keep the lead about 15 points.
Twice in the second half-at 6647
and 68-49--Carolina had 19-point
leads, its largest of the half.
Besides Boswell and Dunleavy,
