University BY MICKEY TRIMARCHI Of The Gamecock staff The University Union is in the process- of restructuring its con stitution and does not appear to be in violation of the group's charter, according to the acting head of the USC chartering commission. "Due to the circumstances surrounding the union's working with one vice president, we (the commission) don't see it as a violation of their charter," Car nell- Foskey, chartering com mission acting chairman, said Saturday. The fact that the Union's charter calls for two vice presidents and only one, Harriet Ferguson, has been appointed, has caused dissention within the Union and several members have questioned the legality of the move. The new constitution calls for only one vice-president instead of two. There will also be a shifting of some of the presidential powers to the other Union officers. At a recent Union meeting, Alan McGill, chairman of Trips and Expeditions, moved there be only one vice-president until the time the new constitution and by-laws are ratified. "When Terry Dugas resigned as vice-president, we decided not to elect someone to fill his place," Frank Siano, president at the University Union.
