"Seeing Genes in Action" will be
the subject of a talk today at USC
by Dr. Oscar L. Miller, Jr.
Miller, chairman of the
Department of Biology at the
University of Virginia and 1973-74
National Lecturer for Sigma Xi,
the scientific research society of
North America, will speak at 8
p.m. in Room 310 of t,-_ Physical
Sciences Center. The public is
invited.
Miller's presentation will
-revolve aro'nd the novel
preparative techniques that have
allowed e)e(.tron microscopic
visualization of the structural
aspects of genetic activity in a
variety of cell types ranging from
bacteria to human.
A native of North Carolina,
Miller holds a bachelor's degree
and a master's in plant breeding
