I Noteworthy Organization To The Editor: In regards to the article in the February 25 Gamecock about the student government plan to fill vacancies in the USC delegation to the South Carolina State Student Legislature through approval of the student senate, I would like to say a few things. I favor such a bill because the executive part of the student government has botched up this matter long enough. When I first learned of the SC SSL, I placed my application in to be a delegate and I was accepted. Our first few meetings before the session was to start in October, '73 were extremely disorganized because Rita McKinney and several others could not make their minds up as to whether the USC delegation should go at all. Finally approving it and obtaining the necessary funds, the USC delegation went to the session. But again, doubts came out about the whole purpose of this organization. Rita and a handful of the delegates gathered one night and decided to withdraw over such crummy reasons as the organization was "too partisan, useless, discriminatory," etc. Unfortunately, I was among the delegates who walked out because I never knew what it was all about. If any student could have seen the looks the other delegates gave us as we walked out (some laughing, others mad, and even some clapping), you would have know why I was upset. The images created by our "great" executives are definitely not good in the eyes of other SC schools The SCSSL is a noteworthy organization, and we should not drag its name in the dirt as we have done. Allow the student senate to use their powers to ap poitit the delegates and end the domination of a handful of in competent officials. John Stringfellow Weo ' I.. Fw" !:,. -a etters' Lone Streaker No More To The Editor: The lone streaker, like the Lane Ranger, is no more. Instead, the noble efforts of individuals has been turned into a mass movement. Monday's attempt at setting a record shows how Americans must turn one shining moment of glory into a dull day of egalitarianism. One can almost sympathize with the College of Charleston's lone streaker, braving unknown odds by himself, waving his sword against all those who venture against him. One remembers fondly the original streaker on the University of Maryland campus several years ago. Who can identify, Walter Mitty-like, with over five-hundred (the figure reported on the radio) s bright-taiied and bushy eyed young men and women? I've especially njoyed watching the games from :arolina Coliseum that have been ationally televised. However, there is one thing that as disappointed me of late.
