Carolina's women's basketball
team runnerup to Tennessee in the
Winthrop Invitational Tournament
last weekend, returns to Rock Hill
Friday and Saturday to compete in
the 10-team state tournament.
The Chicks, coached by Pam
Backhaus, will meet the winner of
the Baptist College-Claflin game
at 6 Friday. Carolina will take a
13-4 record into the state tour
nament and a first or second place
finish would qualify the Chicks for
the regional tournament to be
played early next month.
