Carolina assistant basketball
coach Don Walsh said he does not
know when Head Coach Frank
McGuire will be back coaching, but
he hopes it is soon.
When asked if he thought
McGuire would be back for the
Notre Dame game Saturday af
ternoon at the Coliseum, Walsh
said, "I hope and pray he'll be back
for the Georgia Tech game Wed
r
nesday. One thing I can tell you
he'll come back when he wants to."
Walsh's comments came after he
had coached Carolina to its 34th
straight home win Saturday night
at the Coliseum against Dayton.
The win was Walsh's fourth con
secutive since taking over for
McGuire, who has been suffering y
from an intestinal ailment.
