Fulton BY BOB ODOM Sports Writer (This is the final part of a two part article on the firing of Bob Fulton from covering Carolina basketball games by WIS-TV. The first part appeared in last Thur sday's edition. The decision by WIS-TV to remove Bob Fulton as the USC basketball play-by-play announcer on television was not a move that took place overnight, according to Fulton. Fulton says it was a move that began over a year ago and had only been accomplished by not telling the people of the Southeast he was fired until the contract between USC and WIS was final. I have heard him do the play-by-play and he does a good job. It's just that I cannot see them bringing in a new man and putting him on the spot like they are doing." McGuire said, "I don't think that it is right for a station to carry two major colleges' games. I just feel we have been sold out by WIS radio." As far as I am concerned, I feel that I have a lot more interest in what goes on regarding Carolina sports than any radio or television station." Fulton added, "I would like to thank all those that have supported me through this battle. At one time I had thoughts of leaving Carolina but when I received letters and petitions from Carolina students and numerous other organizations, I decided to stay and sweat it out.
