presented in the Golen Spur
beginning Monday.
The plays sponsored by the
University Players, will be
directed by graduate students in
the Theatre Dept. and cast with
students from the University.
Two plays will be presented
Monday evening at 7:30, "Make
Like A Dog" and "Here We Are,,"
by Dorothy Parker. The following
evening "Cop Out," by John Guare

presented at 8:00. The final per
formance will be "Zoo Story" by

organizations following these
initial presenattions.

Their version is a delightful and
marnelous little gem of fun and
nonsense that I cannot recommend
too highly for those mid-semester
doldrums
in these days when even the
sappiest sit-con on T.V. is laced
with "relevance" a.k.a. tragedy
and moelancholia. it is refreshing to
see something for unabashed fun.
Thi rast is having fun and has
done the characterizations to a
fine turn ha lickley is properly
stuffy and idiotic as the cowardly
martinet Ichabod Crane. His
pratfalls are lunny and his facial
expressions are priceless.
Terrell Green as Brom Bones,
the rowdy farmhoy who nearly
loses his love hatrina Van Tassel
to "Ihe walking stomach" Ichabod,
has everyone in the audience
pulling for him to win her and he
painis a picture of what every
cerebral boy turned man wishes he
(-ohill have been.

Sic is cast in ihe role of Katrina, a
1ui\id iup 18-year-old girl out for
a little romance from a poetry
reading phony and who nearly
ends up with him. She does it
delicately and with much feeling
and she does it so excellently that
you are outraged that a joke like
lelIho(I could possibly win her.
. Stevenson Earhart is incredible
as Papa Van Tassel, the pipe
puffing. no nonsense Dutch farmer
who is the perfect father without
any of the muddleheadedness we
have in the fathers in sit-coms
ioday. His accent is wonderful and
his "Ah. wee-men" is something
that imust be excerienced.

silly Crawford as the
mysterious. inscrutable
houisemaid Sonja manages the feat
of' retaining mystery while still
remaining a benign character, no
easy accomplishment. Her raised
eyebrow and*flashing eyes, as well
as her slinky mien may well be too
sexy for this sort of show, however,
hut Sally. don't stop it.
The intimate ai mosphere of
Workshop is great for this jewel of
vaudvillian fun. It is a happy piece
of musical merriment that should
not be missed and it is within
walking distance of the campus

So go out and laugh with "The
L.egend of Sleepy Hollow," playing
through next week.
