Costuming
Country
Wife
The University Theatre opens its
season Wednesday with the
production, "The Country Wife,"
by William Wycherly, directed by
Roland Reed of the Theater Dept.
The play is about Horner, a
chronic seducer who soon finds it
difficult to finagle his way into the
beds of the respectable wives
roundabout. So he has a rumor
sprea4 that he is impotent due to
venereal disease, which makes
him the butt of the husbands' jokes.
And then he starts to work.
The costuming dept. of the
Theatre Dept. under the direction
of Erin Wertenberger has been
preparing the costumes that are to
be worn in the play.. The costume
dept. here is unusual because it
makes the majority of all costumes
that are worn in the productions at
USC
