ed a resolution Tuesday asking the
county delegation to review the
state laws on obscenity to provide
for full prosecution of any viola
tors.
Jesse T. Reese's resoltuion re
quests the local legislative cadre to
try and rework the state laws in the
light of the late June Supreme
Court decision.
I n essence, the Court ruling
gives local authorities the right to
establish decency standards for
their particular area regardless of
the national opinion.
In.other areas of the country,
the decision has led to the banning

A ten-cents per gallon price in
crease for milk was asked yesterday
of the South Carolina Dairy Com
mission.
Local farmers warned that if the
seven-and-a-third percent hike is
not granted shortages of all dairy
products will result.
The milk producers were grant
ed an increase five months ago but
spokesman Hance Finley reports
his increase is up only $4,300 since
the last increase.

ing.
Accordirig to administrator Lin
da DrIling, the Monday ruling of
the South Carolina Supreme Court
that struck down part of the state
anti-abortion law gives Southern
Women's Services, Inc., the right to
open at 1614 Two Notch Road.
The cost of an abortion at the
clinic will initially be about $190.
