ment of a Center for Cultural
Development.
The Center will serve as a focus
for intellectual growth and innova
tion in the community by acting as
a center -for intellectulal leadership
for the entire state; by stimulating
on campus an intensification of
intellectual interests; by sponsor
ing and supporting experimenta
tion in new teaching and learning
methods and in interdisciplinary
curriculum development; and by
supporting projects of students,
faculty, and informed laymen.
Dr. Bert Dillon, now the Assis
tant Dean of the College of Arts
and Letters, has been appointed
director of the center. Dillon holds
the. Ph.D. degree from Duke Uni
versity, the M.A. from Columbia
University, and the B.A. from the
University of Colorado. He has
