Bell Camp will be the site for
the University's Fourth of July
celebration next Wednesday.
Sponsored by several commit
tees in the University Union, activ
ities will eonsist of a conglomera
tion of land and water games,
movies and a concert.
A bus will leave Russell House
on the half-hour transporting stu
dents back and forth from the
area. Mary Moody, a Union of
ficer, said that everyone was urged
to ride the bus "to avoid the ter
rble parkifig problem."
"Bell Camp only has space for
a couple of hundred. cars, and last
year, over 2000 persons showed
up. We hope this problem will be
avoided if more people will ride
the bus."
Drinks and marshmallows (for
an evening roast) will be provided
free, and ice cream will be sold "at
a break-even cost", Ms. Moody
said. She also said that children's
games were planned in -the after
he perman- noon to take care of any student
and faculty youngsters.
Prizes in the form of "dinners
for two at some restaurant in the
Columbia area and small trophies,
and even money in some events"
