at Bell Camp to celebrate an In
dependence Day free from clas
ses.
Activities will begin at 1:30
and are free to all USC students,
faculty and staff with ID's. Games
in the genre of canoe races, egg
toss, seed spitting contest and a
wheelbarrow race have been plan
ned to take up most of the after
noon. In other areas of the camp,
movies, including Woody Allen
and Marx Brothers, will be shown.
Mary Moody, of the Union
staff, said that they were trying
to obtain different prizes for the
contests such as trophies and
dinners for two in the Columbia
area. Drinks, popcorn and other
snacks will be provided free and
ice cream will be served "for a
break-even charge."

of the severe parking problems
encountered last year at the
Fourth celebration, buses will
be leaving the Russell House be
ginning at 12:30 and continuing
to run on the half hour. "We
really hope most people will take
advantage of the bus," she said,
"because last year about 2,000
.- people showed up and we just
didn't have parking space for
them." ,
Planned evening activities in
clude a marshmallow roast and a
blue grass concert in front of the
lodge. The featured group will be
the blue grass-styled II Genera
tion, managed by the same group
that handles Lester Flatt and
other similar groups.

everything back a little or just
cancel the whole event. We'll play
it by ear when the time comes."
