Toledo's baseball team came to
Columbia last Thursday in expecta
tion of a weekend, three-game
series with Carolina's Gamecocks,
but their visit was in vain as rains
washed away all hopes of playing.
The three rainouts increased the
number of lost games on the season
to 14.
Recent weather conditions also
forced the postponement of USC's
first night game, which was
scheduled for last Thursday against
The Citadel.
But night baseball will make its
debut this week at Carolina, and it
will become a regular feature of the
entire week. Night games, all with
7:30 starting times, are scheduled
for every weeknight except Tues
day and the Citadel-USC clash will
probably be made up on that open
date.
Western Carolina w ill provide the
opposition in tonight's affair at the
Rex Enright Athletic center behind
the Roost Dorm. Following the pos
sible makeup game with The Citadel
