Project S RaIIyAtC Project Success will sponsor a three-day rally at the Central Correctional Institute in Colum bia. The interesting thing about the rally is that it will be the first student rally ever to be held in a prison. The rally oegins March 30 and will fea ture rock music, art, a boxing demonstration, parachuting and speeches from various state officials. Reid Montgomery Jr., direc tor of Success, came up with the J. L. Harvey, department v administrative assistant to tl Herringto field on whic orrection idea for the project while work ing with the Manning Correc tional Institute. He saw a genuine concern among the inmates for better education. The main objective of the pro ject is to raise money for a scholarship fund, so that any inmate who qualifies may further their education. The scholarships will be awarded with reguard to need and desire. Funds will cover housing, trans portation, book and tuition. All students are encouraged to attend the rally. No admis sion will be charged. Montgom ery said that other colleges in the state are participating in the drive, but the USC turnout should be the largest. The expected attendance is 3,000. A Campus Success committee has been working on a fund drive for Success along with several other organizations. So far, $1-,000 has been raised.
