Larry Stroud, a junior pharmacy-pre-med major with a 2.9 grade point ratio, said the office of vice-president was not a "decision-making office." Stroud pointed out that the vice president is "not a complacent puppet." Although the vice president is not a decision making position, Stroud said the vice-president can initiate issues off the floor. Jay Smith, another vice presidential candidate, said as vice-president he would improve the parking situation and the food service on campus. Smith said the students were not getting their money's worth from the Student Government Association. He said the student government must protect the students "from the hassles which the University dumps on the students." Smith said he would create a Senate Committee to list and evaluate apartments in the area for students. He would attempt to increase cooperation between the SGA and organiza tions which receive less fund ing. Bob Craft said he was qualified because he was a student at USC and "loves this university very much." Leigh Leventis has been active in student government since his freshman year. His freshman year he was a senator from the Towers and this year he is President of the Towers dorms. Leventis also said he had heard the "gripes and com plaints" of the students and he had "more direct contact with the students than the others." Joe McCulloch said he was familar with the procedural aspect of Student Government being in the SGA for the past three years. McCulloch is the vice-chairman of the Senate Athlectic Committee and was a presidential appointee to a student-faculty liasion commit tee. McCulloch is member of the USC track team and was a member of the Concert Com mittee in 1970. He is currently a member of the Inter-Dorm Fine Films Committee and the Block C Club. Larry Stroud has learned the "duties, responsibilites and qualifications" of the office of vice-president while serving as Pro Tempore of Student Senate. Jay Smith was unavailable for comment. Success Scholarship Orientation Meeting A follow up meeting of the orien tation that was held on March 1 will be held Saturday, March 10 in Rus sell House 310.
