Three courses of the CLU cur riculum are being offered: Course 2-Life Insurance Law and Com pany Operations; Course 4-Pen sion Planning; and Course 8-Economics. Course 2 will meet Tuesdays, Course 4 Mondays, and Course 8 Wednesdays. Weekly classes, from 4-6 p.m. in Room 219 of the BA Building, begin the week of Feb. Under the Artistic Direction of Federic Franklin and Ben Steven son, the company will present once again its lavishly mounted production of Tschaikovsky's "The Sleeping Beauty." Distribution will begin at 9:00 a.m., Friday, Feb. 2, to students with I.D.s. at the Rus sell House Box office at that time. Hawkins to fill Former State Rep. William B. Hawkins was elected to the USC Board of Trustees yesterday in a joint session of the South Carolina General Assembly. Hawkins was named to the post by Gov. John C West last year until an election could be held to fill the vacancy left by newly elected State Sen. Edward E. Saleeby, D Darlington, in November. Up to yesterday Hawkins was being opposed by James M. Herring, a 34-year-old USC graduate and law partner of Saleeby, but he dropped out of the race when it was clear that Hawkins' victory was assured. Ti LIL VE Trustee vacancy Herring entered the race say ing he felt the legislature should elect younger men to all facets of government. Hawkins, 60, received his law degree from USC in 1935 and lost his seat in the House due to the latest reap portionment plan adopted by the legislature. Hawkins was nominated by William J. McLeod, D-Dillon, who moved that the nomina tions end after entering Haw kins and that he be approved by acclaimation. Lieutenant Gov.
