-VoICE TO THE EDITOR: Great football fan that I am, I very much enjoyed the recent Super Bowl clash between the Miami Dolphins and the Washington Redskins. Unfortunately, I took the side to the Redskins, believing their cause to be just. I guess I should have known better. Anyway, I'm writing this to register my strong disapproval of President Nixon for once again picking the loser of the Super Bowl. I mean, it's not that I dislike the President, you see, but how can we, the Ameri can people, have faith in a man who's picked two losers-in two consecutive years, no less! Admit tedly, other than these two fiascos the President has an unblemished record. But we can hardly ignore his inept judgement in the past two Super Bowls. So what Course of action is left for the American people? I make two suggestions. The first is that we demand that Super Bowls 6 and 7 be replayed and Dallas and Miami, respectively, be compelled by Presidential orders to lose to Miami and Washington, again, respec tively. Thus the last faith in Mr. Nixon could be regained. My second suggestion is that Con gress pass a law whereby in the Super Bowl, exclusively, the team with the fewer number of points is the winner-this law retroactive to Jan. 1, 1972. Of course such a law might present problems for the 1974 Super Bowl, but I feel certain that the President could appoint a committee to study the matter and, no doubt, find a solution in time. Again, faith in the President could be restored. Letters welcome Letters to the editor on topics are welcome but subject to editing and condensation to meet style and space require ments. This could be accomplished by Mr Nixon writing the various game plans for each team. Just think of it! Mp, pre "three yards and a cloud of dust" offenses. Nixon, as we all know, is a proponent of the use of massive airpower and would certainly write game plans contain ing enormously increased usage of the bomb. What excitement! Americans, I call on you to rally round the President in spite of his faulty football judgement. He's only human, you know, and nobody's perfect. Right? Give him one more chance, or maybe four more chances-After all, anyone who has the tremendous popular support that the November election shows our beloved President has just can't be wrong consistantly, can he? Thank you for taking time to read what I have to say. I hope I've made my feelings perfectly clear. Special recognition is due the members of the Student Activities Advisory Council for originating the idea; members of the ad hoc exam committee for their hours of work in making the idea a reality; the University Union and its Direc tor, Mr. David Ness; the Slater "People Pleasers" for the free cof fee and late serving hours; and the many professors who offered their services to the students who sought them. A special thanks to Dean Robert Alexander for his guidance and assistance and to the "Gamecock," WUSC, and the Union Printing Department for publiciz ing the project. It is hoped "Operation Cram House" helped to make the exam period somewhat more bearable and that it was a worthwhile project to all who participated in it. This, perhaps, is one way to further interaction among students and pro fessors at Carolina. NEAL A.
