TO THE EDITOR:
As avid football fans we would
like to make a suggestion as to possi
ble opponents for the upcoming
football season. Being as we have
only won three games this year to
such biggies as Memphis State,
Appalachian State and Wake Forest
University we feel this suggestion
is in order.
POCATALIGO UNIVERSITY,
COLLEGE OF CONGAREE, WAKE
FOREST UNIVERSITY, EUREKA
UNIVERSITY, ASHEPOO U.,
CROSS ROADS UNIVERSITY,
MEMPHIS STATE, COWPENS
COLLEGE, FROGMORE
UNIVERSITY, KINGSTREE
COLLEGE, CLEMSON.
We make this suggestion not in
deference to the team but to our
beloved Coach Dietzel. The
Gamecocks have the potential for
a fantastic team but unfortunately
not the coach.

Ethical press needed
TO THE EDITOR:
I am an alumnus of the University
that visited the campus recently

the final nail into Senator

virtual death of the leftwing

examine the crystal clear (or
not so clear) record of the

They read The Gamecock and then
I read it,
I am not agreeing or disagreeing
with ideas expressed in what was
apparently an editorial ("Amerika,
you asked for it...."), but I would like
to criticize constructively the way
you write. You criticize one politi
cal candidate for engaging in what
you call "gutter politics" and then
you use gutter language to put your
message across. Isn't this being
hypocritical? The gutter is the gut
ter whether it be in politics or jour
nalism. Foul language is a strong
sign of emotional immaturity and
inability to express yourself
adequately and a lack of self
confidence. I also feel that it is an
indication of venting your anger on
the reader.
As you can see by my title, I am
not a minister, nor am I a Sunday
School teacher. There is nothing
dirty about sex or the normal
physiological functions of the
human body, but the terms you use
are indeed associated with "the gut
ter", as you express it and not intel
ligent writing. The gutter is what
the reader feels when he reads
these words. Mature and great
newspapers do not have to resort
to such words to express them
selves. One measure of a great wri
ter would be not to degrade his
readers.
Respect for the press is needed
badly today. Without this respect
people will not believe what they
read in newspapers and if they do
not believe what they read, your
efforts are wasted, even if they con
tinue to subscribe to the paper.

degree of responsibility to the

the wild-eyed liberals of the
Democratic party had their day
in court, so to speak, and the
verdict was loud and clear;
GUILTY of hypocrisy, foolhar

attempt to attack the principles
that have made this nation so
outstanding.
Allow us to examine each

is hypocrisy. This is most evi

achieve racial intergration.

people. All of us have to be respon
sible to somebody in some manner,
whether you choose to call it censor
ship or whatever. My work and pro
fession would fall apart without
censorship of my work and evalua
tion by someone other than myself,
whether this be a medical board or
public opinion or what have you.
There are a lot of scientific terms
that are quite acceptable by all audi
ences to express most anything you
want to say in a high and ethical
manner.
If a patient's physician used
"gutter" language, the patient
would probably lose confidence in
the physician as a mature-thinking
individual.
I realize that The Gamecock is not
written for all audiences, but news
papers may be widely read. I woul
dn't want to use it to convince junior
high school and high school stu
dents and their teachers that the
University of South Carolina is a
great university or that it has a
great school of journalism. I would
be afraid that they would throw it
back in my face and I would have
no defense.

Students insulted
TO THE EDITOR:
During the past weeks of the
Presidential and Senatorial cam
paigns the students of this univer
sity have been showered with a
bombastic display of journelistic.
incompetence. The one-sided man
ifestations of left wing propaganda
which were reported in this publica
tion "of the students" have
reflected the views of a very small
minority of the student body. We
find that your editorial comments
have insulted the intelligence of the
Nwm
lying Now
people, both black and white are
oppossed to such a thing. But
nevertheless McGovern insists
its necessary for you, me, and
the children of every other
individual trying to make ends
meet. But is it necessary for
George McGovern? The
answer is no. You see
McGovern pays 1450 dollars a
year tuition so his daughter can
attend a private school instead
of the intergrated public one in
Washington D. C. The hypoc
risy continues as McGovern
expresses the opinion that he
represents the working-man.
That's similiar to Hitler saying
he represented the Jewish
people in Germany during the
1930's. How can someone rep
resent the people who work one
day and give $1000 to those who
don't work the next day (of
course McGovern later
changed his mind on this point
but that will be discussed later
in relation to indecision).
That brings us to foolhardi
ness. If it weren't for indeci
sion, foolhardiness could well
be George McGovern's middle
name. Senator McGovern
advocated such gigantic
defense cutbacks that even
members of his own political
party, namely Senator Jackson
of Washington and Senator
Humphrey of Minnesota, whose
"politics of joy" can't seem to
make anyone happy, criticized
him. Let us not forget
McGovern's Vietnam policy of
immediate withdrawl. It was
this theme that won him the
heart of every American
liberal. His haphazard plan
gave little thought to our pris
oners of war in North Vietnam.
McGovern would have relied
average Carolina student. Since the
Gamecock receives $38,000.00
from the student activity fund we
ask that the editors refrain from
using this publication as a
"mouthpiece" for their own per
sonal views, and reflect a more
responsive and unbiased attitude in
their reporting.

TO THE EDITOR
I'd like to address this letter to
the student body of Carolina.
I would like to call your attention
to the rebuttal, by Tameha, in the
Nov. 9 Gamecock to my article,
"Different Racism." What more do
you want? Everything I said is true.
Allow me to take the liberty to quote
a few things from Tameha's article
in case you missed it.
"The Blacks at the University
would like for you to know that...if
we want the Russell House for a
Temple for Black Revolutionaries
that, it would be."
"We are proud that you are aware
that we want slavery, strictly slav
ery of the European Americans."
"We are proud to Know that you
are aware that...you're being spit on
and laughed at by Blacks."
"Also remember that every week
of the year is Black week."
What more proof do you want?
World Communism and its unwit
ting agents Black militants, is out to
ore than ever t)
on the communists to release
the POW's, after all "...begging
is better than bombing."
McGovern continually yelled at
the Nixon administration, "Why
couldn't you Republicans end
the war four years ago." The
standard reply was, "Why coul
dn't you Democrats end it eight
years ago, after all you initiated
our major commitment."
Now, for what you've all been
waiting for, the "Prairie Popul
ists" middle name-indecision.
It seems redundant to state
these items a ain and again but
nonetheless to those of us who
detest liberalism in the worst
way, its music to our ears. First
of course there is the 1000%
endorsement of senator Tom
Eagleton of Missouri. Need we
say anymore. This is followed
by that unforgetable communi
cation gap between McGovern
and Pierre Salinger. Mr. Salin
ger insisted McGovern sent him
to Paris to find out about a peace
settlement, while the "Prairie
Populist" (I like that phrase)
says he never did. Of course,
as always, Senator McGovern
issued a statement of clarifica
tion, which sent everything
straight back to where no one
knew what he was talking about.
"A thousand dollars to every
man, woman, and child." No
enslave you! How can your consci
ence allow you to sit back and read
what is in the minds of Black men
and not do anything? How can you
resolve yourself and your genera
tions to a life of slavery? A Black
America in a Communist World is
what awaits you unless you wake
up!
No one heeds a harold of doom
until the doom is at hand. Pray God
that this time, people will listen!
Don't let your death warrent go out
without a struggle. At least, for
Gods sake, open your eyes and rec
ognize what's going on!
I ask all concerned, patriotic,
white Americans to contact:
NSFWO,Box 11705,Cola., S.C. 29211.
This organization is one of the last
bastions of strength and one of the
last rallying points for concerned
European Americans. It represents
the philosophy of National Social
ism. A strong centralized govern
ment with anti-Communist and
racial self defense policies is the
only way. Write now! (pro and con
comments are welcome).
By the way, Tameha, thank you
from the bottom of my heart for
having enough nerve to say whats
in the minds of the Brothers.
Perhaps now European Americans
will finally open their eyes.
R. LINTON ADMIRAL
y Pat Pizzella
sooner are we counting our
money and the "Prairie Popul
ist" (there I go again) has taken
back the thousand dollars in a
speech to Wall street analysts.
Wall street??? The South
Dakota senator should issue a
clarification any day now-but
don't hold your breath.
Last, but certainly not least,
is McGovern's attack at the
Protestant work ethic, duty to
country and regard for human
life. McGovern was ready to
create a welfare state that
would make John Lindsay
resemble a conservative
capitalist. McGovern was pre
pared to give amnesty to every
Tom, Dick, and Harry who left
this country when called upon
to serve. Instead of praising
those who gave their lives in
Vietnam, McGovern called the
draft dodgers "the real heroes
of this war." The Democratic
presidental candidate, being
the left-wing radical liberal that
he is, is is probably in favor of
abortion on demand. However
in an attempt not to lose certain
voting blocks the "Prairie Popul
ist" (oh well) avoided the issue.
This was just another of his
political compromises. In other
words it was a backroom politi
cal manuever on the part of this
sincere leader of the "New Poli
tics." Let it be said that George
McGovern changes his mind
like most people change under
wear.
This column is intended to
give the other side of Politics
a voice, which it seemingly
lacked in previous issues of the
GAMECOCK. So my fellow
Republicans, Democrats for
Nixon, and independents let us
not remain such a silent major
ity on this campus.
