shown at right, play mother and
daughter in the Pulitzer Prize win
ning play, "The Effect of Gamma
Rays on Man-in-the-Moon
Marigolds" by Paul Zindel.
The play which recently ended a
New York engagement of 819 per
formances is now on tour under
Orin Lehman with sets, lighting and
costumes by the original designers.
James Reichert provides the
music and sound as he did in New
York.
Teresa Wright, who won
Academy Award nominations for
her first three films, "The Little
Foxes," "Pride of the Yankees," and
Mrs. Miniver, won the award for the
last, and has more recently received
Emmy nominations as Annie Sulli
van in the "Miracle Worker," and
as Margaret Bourke-White in the
"Margaret Bourke-White Story" on
television.
Paul Zindel, who struck it rich
both critically and financially with
this, his first play, is a former school
teacher. At the age of 35, Zindel
now has a second hit play to his cre
dit, "And Miss Reardon Drinks a
Little," which was successful on
tour last 'eason. He had a third
play, "The Secret Affairs of
Mildred Wild," which will open on
Broadway in November and stars
Maureen Stapleton, the co-star of
CBS's "All in the Family." The play
will be at TIownship Auditorium,
Nov. 8 at 8 p.m.
