The earliest memory I have of
the Buffalo Springfield is an ap
pearance on the Smothers
Brothers show. They were stand
ing on these staggered risers and
there really wasn't enough-light to
see them.
There was this sort of blondish
fellow singing about paranoia and
the man comin's to take you away.
And there was this creature
hovering over a guitar with about
5,000 pounds of buckskin fringe on,
looking sort of aggressive and
frightening.
Well, I didn't know who they
were then, although now I think I
do. And it's been rather disap
pointing, now that I reflect upon it.

Mr. McGuire is allowed to
overlook the "very few Einsteins
and Frosts" in favor of the "list of

of the fact that a majority of

machine; does this explain or
reconcile the fact of the alienation
of the most CREATIVE, most
original individuals in our society?

from a personal viewpoint as an
individual who always has and
probably will continue to maintain
an "exemplary" scholastic record,
