losing money because its new structure
excludes. faculty members' children,
Denise Thomas, acting director said.
"Last year the center was set up as a co
op. A mother or father could work in ex

this year we've been restructured and
faculty are excluded because we're funded
through the University Union. This way
we're actually losing money by not being

apartment for it. Original plans for the
center's opening were partly drawn up by
faculty members, Thomas said, who are
now unable to participate.
Workers at the center are trying to fight
the new structure, Thomas said. "We'd
like to be open from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m.
and hire 15 work-study students and two
full-time workers, and also reinstate the
