Two rod kicking BY BOB CRAFT Staff Writer The James Gang and WhitE Trash kick off the school year', series of rock 'n' roll concerts witt not one, but two shows Sunda) night at Township Auditorium. The two shows are at 7 and 14 p.m. and they are being sponsoret by Creative Concerts, Inc. of Rich mond, Va. Sound will be by Showco. The James Gang is a group frorr Cleveland, Ohio that has had quit( a bit of success both in album sale, and 45s. Their hits include "Fun 49" from their "James Gang Ridee Again" album and last summer': respectable hit, "Walk Away' from the album "Thirds." The band has undergone some internal changes recently. The departure of Joe Walsh an< the addition of Don Troiano on lea< guitar and vocals and Roy Kennei on congas and lead vocals. Don Troiano, who has been witi the band since around Januar said, ".Joe split. Basically he wa tired of traveling. He's living ii Denver now, taking it easy." Troiano said that he was callei by the band and that they playei together, getting it together afte Walsh left the James Gang. Over the years, r he has struggled with Don as a s singer. Both have been members of I groups called Mandala and Bush. Special guest appearance at this I concert will be Jerry LaCroix and i White Trash. r White Trash has also undergone personal changes, with the s departure of Edgar Winter and I Rick Derringer last March, but t. Although the trip was the most fantastic thing she had ever done, Mary Pat missed t some of the aspects of life in the United States. "The t professors seemed very good but I missed the more , informal student-teacher relationship I - find here.
