Glenn Calvert, off-campus fresh
man senator was removed from
his office by the Rules Committee
of the USC Student Senate meeting
Friday.
The rules committee declared
that Calvert had no right serving
as an off-campus senator iecausf
he has been living on campus the
entire school year. Calvert said he
could effectively serve off-campuE
students because he went hom(
every weekend. However, th(
senate majority thought Calverl
could not effectively represent hit

they said, he would be more
concerned with campus life.
A resolution concerning
priorities was also passed. The
senate decided to discontinue the
extension of priorities because it
was impossible to fairly handle
2,000 to 3,000 requests for priorities '
when the registration office only
allows 500 priorities. The
resolution was amended to urge
the administration to assume the
responsibility of issuing priorities
in a responsible manner.
This resolution would call for two
days of late registration to help
students get the courses they want. ?
They would be allowed to sign up
for a course after it has been
closed. If 12 to 15 people did not get
this course, it would be reopened
during the two late registration
days.
In other business, a bill was
proposed to establish a committee
to study student representation on
the Orientation Policy Committee
and to make committee policies.
Mike West and Gus Woods,
student senators, were named to
the Union Board of Governors.
Sen. Rita McKinney's letter of
- resignation was read to the senate.
