S. President John F. Kennedy: and translation of a letter from Hans Globke, Chan cellor Konrad Adenauer's Chef de Cabinet, to Dr. Dulles, recounting the events of August, 1961. The idea for Dr. Dulles' book, which is available through the University of South Carolina Press, grew out of a conference on divided nations at USC in 1970. Mortar I eleven ne The University of South Carolina chapter of Mortar Board, national honor society for college women, has tapped 11 women as new members at USC. Mortar Board selects its members on the basis of scholarship, leadership and service. To be eligible for membership a candidate must be a second-semester junior and must have maintained at least a "B" average. The 11 new members are Annie Lena Barr of Voters surveyed A survey of students at USC indicates that half of USC students are registered to vote. The survey was conducted during spring registration by the Student Voter Registration Tasia Force in cooperation with student government. Survey results showed that 6,601 - or 50.1 per cent -- of 13,181 students responding were registered. Of students in the 18-21 age category 2,743 were registered; 2,520 of the 21-25 ag4 group were registered, and 1,478 o: those responding who were 25 anc older were registered. When those already registere< were asked if they would registei to vote in Richland County if giver the opportunity, 2,099 said the: would.
