The bill would also allow out-of-state students and students with vacation jobs to return home earlier. The author of the bill, Sen. William Hubbard, said a number of USC students hold Christmas jobs and "can't get home." He said the bill would allow USC students to compete for jobs with other state college students who return home earlier. Hubbard said Vice Provost John Guilds said the administration would not oppose the bill if it were passed by the Student and Faculty Senates. The bill would not shorten or lengthen vacations and would not alter the present summer school schedule. A resolution to create a student parking lot exclusively for commuting students was in troduced and referred to com mittee. The Senate also passed a bill setting election times for law positions insult women, for example, there are no women on the board of trustees, important administrative positions and very few full women professors at this university. "Women in Focus Week is an example of a project that we worked in conjunction with the Mortar Board and the AWS," she said. The week produced panels on abortion, sensuality and feminism; the distribution of birth control information booklets -and movies in the dorms. Ms. Eslinea-~ ons ear Student Government elections.
