This non-profit organization has volunteers
who out of their free time contribute their
efforts for the rehabilitation of men and
women who have served a part of their lives
in prison and also with persons who are still
incarcerated.
They-- like any non-profit organization
need money to function. This means that you
have only one of two decisions to make as a
person who repeatedly has stated concern
for people in need. This is either the decision
not to join or the decision to join the Alston
Wilkes Society as a member which is $5 a
year.

ECO 70's will sponsor a poster
contest with a first prize of $15. The
winning poster design will be used
for the official Earth Week poster.
All entries will be displayed during
Earth Week and returned af
terwards. Rules are as follows:
(1) 2 or 3 colors, with a choice of
background color, may be used;
the use of green is required.
(2) Posters should be on 13 x 20
in. paper.
(3) The words "Earth Week"
and "April 16-22" must be on the

The Alston Wilkes Society, a
group contributing efforts to
rehablitate men who have served
time in prison, are seeking new
members. Membership fee is $5 a
year, and interested persons may

LSD TALK
Dr. James B. Appel, an associate
professor at the University of
Chicago, will visit the Department
of Psychology Thursday.
Dr. Appel has been an active
researcher in the field of
psychopharmacology for several
years.
Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. in
Room 401 of Barnwell College Dr.
Appel will give a presentation of
some of his most recent work.
The talk is entitled "LSD and
Behavior" and all interested
faculty and students are invited to
attend.
ZEIGLER TO SPEAK
State Senator Nick Zeigler will
speak at the next Euphradian
Society meeting. All persons in
terested are invited to attend the 7
p.m. meeting at the Euphradian

Bobby Boyle, have been added to
the team but will be red-shirted
this season due to NCAA transfer
rules. Even though they are
ineligible this season, both players
will be involved in much com
petition this spring.
"Our two transfers are very
important to the team. Both of
them are excellent players and
have a job even they are are
ineligible. They will both be
participating in some first class
tournaments such as the
Carolina's Four Ball, the SC Four
Ball and the Azalea Classic as
amateurs."
Boyle who finished 16th in the
National Amateur has also been
invited to the All-Dixie In
vitational.
Coach Melton anticipates his
experienced players to carry much
of the load this season, but plans to
play his young players also. "We
are relying on our returning let
termen and their good playing
averages this year. Our co
captains, Jimmy Hamilton and
Wade Mayo, have been working
hard as the rest of the team has

not concerned with who's number
one or number two because anyone
is capable of beating the others any
time and the freshmen and
sophomores will have an op
