Comprised of Towers residents, these classes are part of a new "living and learning experiment" with residence hall life. "We hope to add to the feeling of an academic atmosphere in residence halls," said Chip San ders, assistant dean of residence life. "We want to make the residence hall something other than a place to sleep and eat. A living and learning atmosphere is what we're after." "The decision to use Men's Towers as housing for women strengthened our convicitons about the idea," Dr. Paul Fidler, assistant vice-president of students affairs said. "We decided this would be an opportune time to try the program." "Our goal is to have classes right in the setting of the residence halls," he said. "This type of scheduling will never be extended to the point of isolating a group of students," Fidler said. Class scheduling was done with Towers' permission because they are providing the class space. Offices also have been set up in residence halls for course in structors. Originally four sections were scheduled but one was dropped because of small enrollment after registration. In a Towers' meeting last week, however, classes were opened for other Towers occupants not already in the program, resulting in the addition of ap proximately 25 students, according to Dean Sanders. rnity rush formal and omit stiff rulings. Various leaders are positive about their fraternity. Each rushee will have to evaluate how each fraternity accepts him and choose the one he best fits.
