FARRELL: Entering freshmen have shown much enthusiasm for involvement this year in student activities. As secretary for freshmen affairs, I am stressing involvement as a vital and essential element in becoming completely oriented to the educational system at the University. I feel that a student misses out on a very rewarding experience of college life if he doesn't become Involved in some type of student activity or organization. Involvement gives the student a chance to meet and work with people having different social and environmental backgrounds. In talking with many of the freshmen already, they no longer want to be a part of an inactive student body as was the case In many high schools. They feel that they can make a valuable con tribution to the University and are willing to give what they have in order to get a meaningful ex perience out of it all. This year, I see my task as getting the freshmen involved as they never were before and assisting In any other necessity that they see fit.
