Sen. Yarborough said.
Criteria for allocating student
activity fees are included in a bill
introduced by the Finance Com

The bill "gives students and
students only the power to allocate
their own activity fees.
Criteria for the allocation of
activity fees are based on the size
of the organization, the
organization's activities, the past
use of allocated funds by the
organization and the services of
the organization, according to the
bill.
A bill providing for summer
session activity fees was passed by
the senate.
Sen. Yarborough said summer
school students have activities and
pointed out that Bell Camp, WUSC
and the Gameccli all operate
during summer school.
By charging $3.50 per person per
session, an additional $30,000 can
be put into the fund for all
allocations the senator said. "As it
is now, all benefit from the ac

Senators will receive salaries
instead of stipends according to a
bill from the Finance Committee
which was passed by the Senate
Wednesday
The bill abolishes the present
stipends for senators and provides
for a monthly salary of $25 for
committee chairmen and $20 for
all other senators.
The bill requires senators to
keep office hours and attend
Senate and committee meetings or
lose their salary or receive a pay
reduction.
"The purpose of the bill is to
make sure that anyone who doesn't
deserve money from Student
Government for working doesn't
get it," Sen. Yarborough said.
It also gives senators "incentive
to attend every meeting," he said.
Office hours are needed so con
stituents can contact their
representatives. Sen. Yarborough
said.
''Committee chairmen must
keep exact records of attendance
at committee meetings or face
(pay) reductions," Sen. Yar
borough said.
