Itramura Victories recorded .BY DOUI, WILLIAMS Ass. Sports Editor Kappa Alpha, Preston, Maxcy and Town Men all posted wins in intramural basketball action held last Thursday night at Longstreet Gym. For KA. Tommy Garvin paced a 76-58 victory over Lambda Chi Alpha in the Fraternity division with 24 points. Steve Dietzel and W Greg Blatt each added 16 markers or the victors. For Lambda Chi, Joey Powell led the way with 16 points, followed by Cecil Martin with twelve. Bob White and Jeff Lenar had eleven apiece. Preston took a 48-35 verdict over winless LaBorde behind the even scoring of its top five. Tommy Mitchell tallied twelve points in leading the winners, while Terry Campbell and Paul Davis chipped in eight each. For LaBorde, Charles Blank had eight points in topping the Towers' team scoring column. Trhe Maxcy-Woodrow clash provided the most excitment, as Maxcy struggled to a 53-50 win.. Rich Lewandowski and Steve Zagorin combined for 30 points in paving the way to victory. Pete Carr had high point honors for Woodrow, scoring 17, and Richard Iboward added nine more. Town men threw up a tenacious defense in downing Marrieds by a score of 47-28. Jerry McMahon threw in aixteen points, but was aided by a ten point output by Brian Mahelsky. . Ted Dubose provided the majority of Marrieds offense, getting ten points, while Tom Magee was runnerup with nine. For the season, KA retains its unbeaten spot at 3-0, while Lambda Chi was handed its first defeat of the season. Preston also stayed in the ranks of the undefeated at 2-0, whereas LaBorde felt to 0-2. Maxey upped its record to 3-0 as L Woodrow fell one game wider the '5N) mark at 1-2.
