Roche reportly was on probation for kicking Duke's Dick DiVenzio. But nothing was mentioned about that incident until the Herald story. At the time Roche was quoted as saying that he was trying -to get his foot loose, that he did not kick DiVenzio. Gamec accounted for 20 Gamecocks markers. Sophomore standout Kevin Joyce and junior powerhouse Tom Riker followed in scoring with 15 and 13 respectively.
