points and 16.1 rebounds last year.
Williams tossed in a average of 7.8
points and pulled down 7.7
rebounds per game.
The probable starters for this
eason are Foster and Thomas,
Angel and Williams and either Ron
Venwick or Joe Cooley.

and backcourt ace. Fresh up from
the Cubs that finished their season
with a 9-7 mark, he is 6-3 and was
the high scorer with 26.5 points.
locke spoke of Fenwick having
adjustment problems and as of this
time not slated to start. In his place
will be (7ooley who is three inches
taller but only averaged 5.8 points
per game.
When Locke was asked if he was
looking toward the future with the
hope of building he replied,
"Pretty much so. mainly three
years from now."

broken ankle this season, Japeth
Trimble. also from New York,
Mark Cartwright. rated as one of
the three top high school centers in
the nation last year, and Rich
Porac round out the talented
Maryland qunitet. hailed by Sports
Illustrated as "The top freshman
team in the nation."
I)reisell and Maryland have high
hopes of becoming the UCLA of the
east, a goal which may be easily
reached if the caliber of future
1reshrpan teams smacks of the
quality of the last two Maryland
squads. especially the 1970-7f
edition.
